Here’s what you’ll need to make an easy no-fail tortilla recipe.

  • 2 cups Bisquick or other baking mix
  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • scant cup of HOT water

Mix the Bisquick or baking mix and all-purpose flour.

Step 1

In a mixing bowl mix together the Bisquick or baking mix and all-purpose flour.

Use a stand mixer to make the mixing easier!

Step 2

Slowly add the hot water while stirring just until the dough forms a ball. I use a stand mixer for this step because it makes life easier. You could also use a hand mixer, but then you’ll have to knead by hand for the next step.

Step 3

Knead the dough for 2 minutes in a stand mixer OR knead by hand until dough is smooth and uniform.

Step 4

Allow it to rest for 20-30 minutes, covered so the dough doesn’t dry out.

Cut the dough into even pieces.

Heat over medium-low a heavy cast-iron skillet, comal, or a griddle, and cut dough into even pieces. I cut mine into 8 equal pieces. You could cut into 10 with this recipe.
