I have to admit that I’ve never made  stuffed strawberries. But, my favorite dessert is strawberries and whipped cream, so making stuffed strawberries was meant to be.  It turns out that this fun strawberry dessert was perfect for my family: bite sized and easy  to make!  We  bought a huge container of California Strawberries {Kids Activities Blog sponsor} and we made our own stuffed strawberries three different ways! Pssst…read to the bottom to find out how you can win a fun prize from CA Strawberries! CA-strawberriesI’ve never been a great cook and I’m a terrible baker.  I think that’s why I’ve always gravitated to strawberries for dessert.  All you need is some whipped cream and you’ve got yourself an amazing treat! These  no-cook desserts were all inspired by whipped cream and strawberries.

What You Need to Make  Stuffed Strawberries

  • Strawberries
  • Whipped Cream
  • Oreos (or chocolate graham crackers)
  • Gummy Worms
  • Sprinkles, cherries, chocolate sauce, etc.. (or use what you like on sundaes!)

sundae-stuffed-strawberries The first dessert we made was sundae stuffed strawberries.  Chocolate sauce is hidden underneath the whipped cream which makes the dessert over the top!

How to Make Sundae Stuffed Strawberries

  1. Cut off the stems of the strawberries
  2. Cut them all in half, length-wise
  3. Squeeze a line of chocolate sauce on top of the strawberry
  4. Top with whipped cream and any other sundae toppings you love
  5. Enjoy!

dirt-worm-strawberries My daughter was THRILLED to eat dirt!  When you mix oreo crumbs with whipped cream it makes a delicious looking dirt.  We stuffed our strawberry with dirt and added a gummy worm for fun!  This would be a hit at a kids birthday party or at a sleepover!!

How to Make {Dirt & Worm}  Stuffed Strawberries

  1. Core out the strawberry from the top
  2. Remove the tops of 2 oreo cookies  and smash into crumbs
  3. Mix  oreo crumbs with  a dash of whipped cream to form the dirt
  4. Fill strawberry with  oreo crumbs and whipped cream mixture
  5. Top with a gummy worm
  6. Enjoy!

Tip: Don’t scrape off the oreo icing to make crumbs!  Instead, take off one side of the oreo cookie to smash.  Put the bottom icing and cookie together with another to make a double stuffed oreo!

stuffed-strawberriesThe last dessert we made was a simple stuffed strawberry snake.   If you don’t feel like straying too much from strawberries and whipped cream, this simple snake will make your dessert irresistible to kids!

How to Make Stuffed Strawberries Snake

  1. Choose one strawberry to be the head
  2. Cut a wedge out from the tip of the strawberry to make an open mouth
  3. Add two drops of whipped cream and cookie crumbs for eyes
  4. Cut the stem off of the remaining strawberries for the snake body (this will make a flat surface so that strawberries can sit up)
  5. Hollow the strawberry out from the tip and fill with whipped cream
  6. Make the snake by starting with the head and placing the body behind in a wavy, snake-like line!

This dessert let us sneak in a little learning, too!  We talked about alliteration and how snakes and strawberries both make the sound “sssss.”  I don’t think there is anything cuter than a preschooler smeared with strawberry trying to make the sound “sssss!” If you loved this food for kids, hop on over to our Facebook page and tell us which one you want to try!
