Ok, so it’s a day BEFORE Father’s Day but don’t you think Dad would love to get a gift early and spend the day at the Denton Airshow?

The 2011 Denton Air Show will feature two of the best single ship demonstration teams with the US Air Force F-16 Viper West Demo Team and the US Navy F/A-18F Super Hornet West Coast Demo Team Legacy Flight.

Civilian performers will include Julia and Tony Wood in their Russian SU-26M and PItts S2C, Jeff Boerboon in his Extra 330SC, Mike Gallaway in the Extra 300S, Kate Kyer in her Pitts S2C, Ray Kinney in his P-40 Warhawk and F4U Corsair, Andrew Wright in his Giles 202, Scott Lane in his Pitts S2B, and numerous warbird demonstrations and flight formations.

Performers from as far away as California and Utah will be coming to Denton for this world-class aviation event on the Saturday Fathers Day 2011 weekend.

She Is Dallas info: The 2011 Denton Airshow will take place on Saturday, June 18 from 9:00 – 4:00 at the Denton Airport.   The Denton Airport is located at 5000 Airport Road in Denton, 4 miles west of I-35. Follow Airport Road signs to the airshow parking lots located around the airport property.   Admission is $10 for adults and children, children under 6 are free.   For more information, please visit the Denton Airshow website.   You can also follow them on Facebook.

Food, drinks, and merchandise will be available throughout the airport.   Prohibited items include firearms, knives (including pocket knives and all purpose tools, i.e. leathermans), backpacks, coolers, aircraft transceivers, any alcoholic beverages, glass bottles, and large bags are prohibited. (Exceptions: purses, diaper bags if accompanying a child, small camera bags, lawn chairs ”these items will be searched).

About the Denton Airport

The Denton Airport is the North Texas Airport of Choice, and is located within the city limits of the City of Denton, only four miles from the central business district and 15 minutes north of the Texas Motor Speedway. The airport uses a full instrument landing system and Navigational Directional Beam, Global Positioning System, VASI II and VASI IV, which are owned by the City and maintained by the FAA. In 2007, the Denton Airport had over 100,000 operations and is continuing to increase operations in 2008. There are over 20 businesses located at the Airport and 250 based aircraft. In 2011, the Denton Airport welcomes their new 7001 ft. long runway!
