This Homemade Flamingo Soap is a fun way to keep little hands clean this summer. It’s easy to make and can be used right after it hardens making it a great gift idea too!
Handmade soaps are so easy to make especially when you use glycerin soap because there is no curating time. Since glycerin soap has already cured, the active ingredient lye is already to the point where it becomes skin-safe. That is why after you make soap like this and let it harden, you can use it immediately!

Let’s get to making this adorable soap!
What You’ll Need to Make Flamingo Soap:
- Clear Glycerin Soap
- Neon Blue Food Coloring
- Skin Safe Glitter (not the kind down the craft isle)
- Essential Oil
- Flamingo Toys
- Round Silicone Soap Mold
- Microwave Safe Measuring Cup
- Knife or Soap Cutter
- Isopropyl Alcohol in Spray Bottle
How to Make Flamingo Soap:
First, start by cutting your soap into square cubes. Doing this, allows the soap to melt properly.
Next, place all of the soap pieces into a microwave safe dish or measuring cup and put into the microwave. Microwave for 30 seconds then stir and repeat until all of the soap is melted.
Now, add 2-3 drops of the neon blue food coloring and stir well. Note: Don’t use gel food coloring as it is more oil based and doesn’t stir well into the soap.
Now add in your glitter. You can add as much or as little as you’d like. I used about a tablespoon. Stir well.
Now, carefully pour the melted soap into the mold filling it about half way. You’ll want to do this part for your kids so they don’t burn their hands since the soap will be hot.
Spray the top with the isopropyl alcohol, this helps remove bubbles that surface.
Now, spray the bottom of your flamingo toys with the alcohol and place on top of the melted soap before it hardens. If you don’t do this, the soap won’t attach to the toy. The alcohol helps the toy adhere to the soap.
Spray the top of the soaps again to remove bubbles.
Allow the soaps to harden for about 4 hours or overnight is ideal. Once hard, remove them from the mold by gently pressing the back of the silicone mold to release the airlock.
Your soaps are ready for use! Just make sure to cover any you don’t plan to use with plastic wrap or place in plastic bags for gift giving!
