Halloween Games FAQ

How do you make Halloween fun for kids at home?

Kids want to have fun and Halloween is one of the best (and easiest) times to make that happen. Choose Halloween games that fit the likes of your child. If your child is creative and loves art then a hands on decorating contest like a pumpkin decoration contest or mummy wrap game might be perfect. If your child likes traditional games, then Halloween bingo could be the best fit.

What are 5 traditional Halloween activities?

1. Ooey gooey item identification while blindfolded
Be inspired by our Halloween sensory activities (14 Fun Halloween Sensory Activities for Kids & Adults) like making a gross brains and eyes bin(Make a Gross Brains & Eyes Halloween Sensory Bin) and create different touching stations where kids try to figure out what they are touching while blindfolded. It is part Haunted house and part sensory fun!

2. Speed Mummy Wrap Game
Break into teams and see who can wrap a mummy the fastest. This Toilet paper mummy wrapping game (Let’s Have Some Halloween Fun with the Toilet Paper Mummy Game) is one of our very favorites!

3. Team Halloween Mad Libs
Break your group of older kids into teams or this can work with younger kids with adult help and use our Halloween Mad Lib (Halloween Mad Libs & Printable Candy Corn Maze & Word Search) printable to come up with a ridiculously silly Halloween story. Read the results aloud to each other.

4. Ghost Bowling is always a hit
Make your own ghost bowling (DIY Scary Cute Homemade Ghost Bowling Game for Halloween) set and watch the pins fly.

5. Halloween Puzzle Speed Game
Make a series of Halloween puzzles (Spooky Cute DIY Halloween Paint Chip Puzzles for Kids) with the age of kids that are coming to your Halloween party in mind. Use them as a game to see who can put them all together the fastest these also make really cute things to put in a Halloween party goodie bag.

What do I need for a kids Halloween party?

Break your kids Halloween party list into these categories when planning the big event:
-Party invitations: send out texts, emails, eInvites or traditional printed invitations

-Party food: choose a few Halloween themed food items that fit the time of day, Halloween treats and try a Spooky fog drink(Easy Spooky Fog Drinks – Halloween Drinks for Kids)

-Party games & activities: Plan for several games and activities choosing ideas that fit your location inside or outside. Most Halloween parties we have hosted used 2-5 games during the party to keep the kids entertained.

-Party decorations: You can keep this really simple by using easily accessible Halloween party decorations or making your own. Think spider webs, spiders, witches, ghosts and pumpkins.
-Halloween goodie bags: Every party is better when the participants can take a little memory home from the party!
